Led by Weihai Nacheon Pipeline Co., Ltd., the kick-offmeeting of the “13th Five-Year Plan" national key research &development program "Ultra-deep water multipurpose flexible pipedevelopment and demonstration" was successfully held in Wendeng District,Weihai City, Shandong Province on April 27th.

The program aims to develop the non-metallic, bonded, multipurposeflexible pipe with independent intellectual property rights, which is suitablefor conditions of 3000m water depth.

  The relevant experts from the Ministry of Science &Technology and the leaders from science & technology management units atall levels attended the meeting. During the meeting, the experts and leadersreviewed the Program Management Measures (Temporary) drawn up by theprogram team, and put forward the valuable suggestions. In the meanwhile, theattendee also listened to the implementation plan reports on each subject,fully discussed the problems existed and raised the constructive suggestionsfor the smooth implementation of the subjects.

  Through the implementation of the national key R & Dprogram, the team expects to develop the world-leading ultra-deep waterflexible pipe products & technology and provide key equipment &technical support for the exploitation of deep-sea oil and gas.
